Happiness is a Weird (yes it is) Al...

So I was at my first Weird Al concert, during his Off the Deep End tour (1993?). After the show, I made my friends stick around afterwards so I could get an autograph. I had him sign my arm in indelible marker, and I suggested to him that he should go to the Rocky Horror Picture Show that night, which was where my friends and I were going. Weird Al said that maybe he would show up. He asked where it was, and I told him. I figured he was putting me on, but was still pretty happy about meeting him. He got into his limousine, and rolled off.

A couple of hours later, Weird Al showed up at the show with Jim West and Steve Jay, just after the pre-show numbers and as the film was starting. He sat behind me, and stuck around after the show to pose for this photo and some others, and to chat with people. He even went to the bar with the cast afterward.

The epilogue is that I recently (1999) was at another concert and stuck around after the show. I recalled to him the incident. I didn't get far into the story when he remembered, and said that he'd had a lot of fun that night. He said he never gets to do stuff like that anymore. He hugged me, and I had it caught on my digital camera, which unfortunately got stolen before the photo was uploaded to my computer.
